Support children who live with a parent who has a mental illness: the situation in Tyrol

According to international studies, around a quarter of all children live with a parent who has a mental illness. While some children get along well with the situation, many become ill themselves after some time. Not infrequently, difficult life courses are the result. The research project "Village", launched in February, attempts to break through the negative cycle by giving early recognition to children and supporting them in everyday life through a social network coupled with professional help. The pilot region for the project is Tyrol. An actual situation analysis describes the initial situation.
